Day 1: Airport Transfer in Casablanca
Choosing Casablanca as your starting point, upon arrival visit the Hassan II Mosque, the third largest mosque in the Muslim world.
Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Fes
In the morning, drive 70km on the highway to the capital Rabat and visit the many ancient archaeological attractions there. Continue in the afternoon to Fes, one of the oldest imperial cities, and spend the night in a picturesque Moroccan “riad” (house with interior garden).
Day 3: Fes
A local guide who speaks your language will meet you in the morning and guide you through the medina (old city) past ancient monuments from the 12th century. You will also see how leather is processed and tanned using traditional methods. In the afternoon, explore on your own, or spend the day as you wish. Accomodations are pre-arranged for the stay in Fes.
Day 4: Fes – Erg Chebbi Desert
A day of travel marked by landscapes and culture. You will reach the village of Merzouga by the afternoon and in the evening take a camel tour to the highest sand dunes in Morocco, the Erg Chebbi. Enjoy the sunset and then retire for the night in a bivouac of comfortably furnished Berber tents.
Day 5: Merzouga – Dades Valley
Rise with the sun and return to Merzouga where you can expect a shower and a hearty breakfast. Later that day, visit a local market in Rissani before continuing through the Dades Valley. Passing numerous casbahs, take a detour to Erfoud where the annual Date Festival takes place in October. Later that night, travel back to the Dades Valley.
Day 6: Dades Valley – Marrakesh
Through the Valley of Roses, where thousands of roses bloom in the summer, we will drive along the “Street of a Thousand Casbahs” which is known for the palaces of many princes and located near the villages. In the “movie city” of Ouarzazte, the journey leads us to another UNESCO World Heritage site, the impressive casbah Ait Ben Haddou where we might enjoy a guided tour. In the afternoon, return to Marrakesh via the Tizi N’Tichka pass (2260 meters) of the High Atlas Mountains and past numerous picturesque Berber villages. Along the way, visit an argan oil cooperative before spending the night in a beautiful “riad“ in the medina (old city) of Marrakesh.
Day 7: Marrakesh
This day offers you the chance to immerse yourself into the hustle and bustle of the Berber city. In the morning you will have a guide to tell you about the many attractions of the country and its people. The afternoon is free for a visit to the souk and the Jemaa el-Fnaa market square.
Day 8: Marrakesch – Casablanca
Transfer to Casablanca Mohammed V Airport.
